FriendSchedule Help & FAQ
Everything you need to know about creating and sharing scheduling polls.
Create a poll →How do I create a scheduling poll?
Visit the homepage and fill out the poll form. Give your poll a title, pick your candidate days or time slots, choose who can vote (open link, email invites, or signed-in accounts), and click Create poll. You will immediately get a shareable link and a private admin link — bookmark the admin link.
How do I share my poll with friends or teammates?
After creating a poll, copy the share link from the admin page and send it to your group via text, email, WhatsApp, Slack, or any messaging app. Anyone with the link can vote — no account or app required.
Can people vote without creating an account?
Yes. Voters only need the share link — no sign-up, no password, no app. They enter their name and click their available dates.
Can I edit my poll after creating it?
Yes — use your admin link to manage your poll. From the admin page you can close the poll, pick a winner, send reminders, and see all responses. Save or bookmark your admin link; it is the only way to manage the poll without signing in.
What is the difference between days mode and time slots mode?
Days mode lets you propose specific calendar dates (e.g. Friday May 9, Saturday May 10) and participants mark which days they are available. Time slots mode lets you propose exact start and end times (e.g. Monday 2-3 pm, Monday 4-5 pm) — useful for scheduling meetings where the specific hour matters.
How do I send a reminder to people who have not voted?
Open your admin link and look for the Send reminders option. If you collected email addresses when you created the poll, FriendSchedule will email participants who have not responded yet. No email? Share the poll link again manually.
How do I pick a winner and close the poll?
From your admin link, click Close poll to stop accepting new votes, then click Pick winner on the date or time slot you want to go with. You can reopen a closed poll if you change your mind.
Do I need an account?
No. You can create, share, and manage polls using just the admin link — no account needed. Optionally, sign in with your email to keep a persistent dashboard of all the polls you have created.
Is FriendSchedule really free?
Yes. FriendSchedule is completely free — no paid tiers, no ads, no credit card. All features are available at no cost.
How is FriendSchedule different from Doodle?
Both tools let a group vote on dates. The key differences: FriendSchedule is free with no ads (Doodle's free tier shows ads and charges for calendar sync). FriendSchedule is faster to set up and focused on simplicity. Doodle has more enterprise features like SSO and compliance certifications for larger organizations.
How is FriendSchedule different from When2meet?
FriendSchedule offers a similar no-account group scheduling experience to When2meet, but with a more modern interface, email reminders, admin controls, and mobile-friendly design. When2meet uses a drag-grid format; FriendSchedule uses a cleaner card-selection format.
Can I hide vote results from participants?
Yes. When creating your poll, you can enable Hide votes so participants cannot see how others voted until the poll is closed. Only the admin can see individual responses.
How long does a poll stay active?
Polls stay open until you close them via the admin link or until the deadline you set when creating the poll. There is no automatic expiration.
